Banana Choco-Peanut Butter Frozen Treat!

Frozen Banana's are delectable!  I recently discovered Banana Ice Cream, with no Ice Cream.  It is amazingly yummy.  So I began altering and trying various recipes to make a frozen treat that was scrumptious but didn't have a dreaded sugar spike.  My solution to this was to add Peanut Butter which added a bunch of protein to stabilize the carb overload from the bananas.    I hope you love it!

 Ingredients:

  •  3 Bananas
  • 1/2 Cup Cool Whip
  • 1/4 Cup Reeses Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Nutella
  • 1 tsp Real Vanilla Extract

Break up the bananas and place them in a Blender or Food Processor.  This can also be done in a mixer in a pinch if you don't have either of the previous appliances.

Blend on medium until the Bananas are a liquid.

Add in the Cool Whip and blend again.

Once thoroughly mixed, add in the Peanut Butter, Nutella and Vanilla and Blend for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is consistent and everything is blended together.  Sample the mixture to see if it needs slightly more of one of the ingredients.  It will taste slightly different each time depending on how ripe your bananas are or if you use a specialty banana like the Apple Banana here in Hawaii.

Pour the mixture into a freezable container.  I keep Gelato Jars from my favorite ice cream company and reuse them.  If you like chunks of fruit you can stir in some sliced bananas at this stage.

Then pop it in the freezer and let it set up.

Notes:

  • If you want to lower the sugar impact even further use less ripe bananas.
  • This isn't a low calorie or low fat treat so make sure and watch portion control or use it as a post work out snack.
